To whomever this may concern, I believe it is prudent that I begin recording the big events of my life, so that this may be passed on. A man just moved into Netherfield! And a single man at that! And he's even "a single man of large fortune, four or five thousand a year. What a fine thing for our girls!" (Page 6).

This is just perfect! This Bingley fellow is just what I, well, what the girls need! Jane even gets to dance with the man! It seems he brought a friend too, this Darcy fellow looks to be even better! He'd be perfect for Lizzy! He apparently makes even more than Bingley, ten thousand a year! And the estate, oh, the estate! It's a palace in of itself!

I must say, this Darcy fellow is not what I expected at all. For all his money and good looks, his manners were especially downtrodden! He only danced once with Mrs. Hurst, and once with Caroline. He believes himself above the rest of us, I can tell you that. Although Bingley seems to be getting along well with Jane, so everything's fine on that matter.

Everything was going well. After the dance, Mr. Bingley invited Jane to his estate, so they could get to know each other better. But alas, I can never seem to catch a break, as Jane fell ill while visiting. That poor girl. Lizzy has already gone to check on her, I do hope this is only minor.

It's been a day, and Lizzy isn't back from Netherfield as of yet. I do honestly start to worry for Jane. Netherfield isn't that far, if she was well, she'd be able to return, how inconvenient that would be. Oh, this'll be like the plague all over again!

'Tis only right that I be here with poor Jane! I do most definitely fancy the Bingley house but the family is oh so rude! Although Jane being ill is devastating news, she now gets more time with Mr. Bingley and I am now creating a closer connection with him myself! Oh how I hope he gathers the sense and courage to propose!

Oh goody! We'll be hosting a great visitor in Mr. Collins! He will be showing to inspect his future inheritance of our lovely home. My young girls better be on their best behavior for Mr. Collins in hopes that he might gain interest in one!

As for my second to eldest, I hope that Lizzie can get Mr. Collins to propose to her! He is visiting us currently and is most definitely the perfect man! I must do what I can to have this marriage come to life. To have Longbourn to stay with the family once my husband and I pass would be quite the dream!

This mustn't be true, Charlotte is now engaged to Mr. Collins! I am absolutely distraught with Elizabeth for declining his proposal. Why must it be so complicated for her to want "only a comfortable home" (pg 123) as said Charlotte? Goodness gracious!
