One hot summer day in the city of Sydney a beautiful baby girl was born. Her mother didn't have the money to raise a child so she did what she thought was right and put her baby up for adoption.

She decided the best place for her would be the local adoption center so she could find a family that was able to take care of her. It was difficult but she knew it was the best thing for her.

The people at the adoption center named her Emma and they loved her very much. She lived there until she was three years old, then one day her life changed forever.

One of the workers named Blair adored Emma and Emma loved Blair. Since Blair and her husband Freddie were not able to have kids of their own she decided to talk to Freddie about adopting Emma.

The day before Emma's 3rd birthday when Blair got home from work, she brought up the idea of adopting Emma to Freddie.

Freddie thought it was a marvelous idea because he knew how much Blair Loved the child and also where Freddie grew up as a foster child he felt even more drawn to the idea of adopting a child.

So they called the adoption coordinator at the adoption center to talk about adopting Emma. The coordinator said it was fine and they could come sign the papers the next day. Blair and Freddie were over joyed.

They told the coordinator not to let anyone tell Emma, because they wanted to surprise her the next day when they came to pick her up.

So that evening they went to different stores to get what they needed for Emma. Then they spent the rest of the night setting up her room so it would be all ready.

The next day they went to the adoption center to sign the adoption papers. After they signed the papers they went to go see Emma. When Emma saw Blair she ran over into her arms and gave her a big hug.

"Blair, what are you doing here"?

"We came to see you for your birthday and we have a surprise for you".

"What is it Blair"?

"We are adopting you".

"OMG Really"?

"Yes really"!

"Yeah, this is the best birthday present ever"?

"I'm glad your happy, go pack your things and we will head home".

Little did Emma know that everyone was waiting at home to surprise her for her birthday. When she walked in the door everyone yelled surprise. Emma was definitely surprised indeed.

Emma couldn't believe that so many people cared about her and it turned out to be the best birthday she ever had.

That night when it was time for bed, they tucked her in, read her a bedtime story and said good night.

"Good night Emma, sweet dreams".

"Good night mom, good night dad".

They were thrilled that she was calling them mom and dad.
