To all the educators of the 21th century who are striving to cultivate the current technological changes in pedagogy.

One late Monday night, Ms. Nokia decided to spend some time researching the benefits of technology in the classroom because soon, she was going to receive new computers for her students.
“I’m excited about the new computers that will be installed! There is no doubt that the integration of technology in education is vital for student’s success and promotes 21st century skills.”
Ms. Nokia was thinking of ways to integrate technology into her curriculum because her goal was to have all student adapt quickly to technology which was ultimately proven to aid in learning when integrated into the curriculum in a meaningful way, and directly affects every aspect of life.
After receiving the new computers, Ms. Nokia was anxious about how her most energetic student was going to react because sometimes she can’t stay still! On her first day using the computer, Valentina stayed in the computer for a whole hour! She was happy to play math and literacy games and her level of concentration and engagement was outstanding.

“Yay 655!
I got the correct answer!”
Valentina had absorbed a lot more when using the computer because the brain is more receptive to technology-based delivery methods of information.

Having in mind that studying technology facilitates learning, Ms. Nokia was expecting for her students’ grades and academic achievement to improve. After all, one-to-one computing leads to gains in academic performance, graduation rates, and decreases in dropout rates and disciplinary actions.

As Ms. Nokia was grading assignments, she remembered that her two most inquiring students seemed to be quieter than usual.
“I just realized that today neither Mia nor Allan asked me for help, and they figured out the assignment on their own!”
Mia and Allan were working together, and technology brought positive changes in classroom climate, where the teacher’s role shifted from a director to facilitator and encouraged students and teachers to work collaboratively.”

Let's work together again Allan!!
One day after remembering that studies have found students who used laptops experienced greater gains in mathematics, science, and writing compared to those not using laptops. Ms. Nokia decided to have her students use the laptops that were donated for her classroom.

“I will change the way I give homework because different types of teacher practices influenced students to use out-of-class technology. Now my students will do it online with their new laptops.”
When Ms. Nokia gave the online homework, her class was constantly communicating with her because the integration of technology into the classroom setting allows teachers the benefit of connecting with students digitally by providing rich learning experiences with which students can relate.

“Now if I have a question about anything like puzzles, soups, and blankets, I find the answers on my laptop!”
The new laptops led to a self-directed use of technology for learning outside the classroom and made Ms. Nokia’s students more independent.
