"Noooo! Kissy Monster, Stop!" Iyla squealed at her mommy.

"Never!" Kissy Monster Mommy continued to kiss her little girl.

"Mommy, will you always love me?" Iyla wondered.

"Always!" Mommy reassured. "I will always love you, no matter what! And.... I'll never stop kissing you!"

Mwah! Smooch! Mwah! Smooch!

"But, what if you didn't have any lips?" Iyla teased.

"Then, I'd kiss you with my eyes!" Mommy said as she began to give Iyla butterfly kisses with her eye lashes.

"But, what if you didn't have any eyes?" Iyla pondered.

"Then, I'd kiss you with my nose!" Mommy giggled as she gave Iyla nosy rubs and Eskimo kisses!

When Iyla was 3 years old, her baby sister, Freya, went to Heaven. This story was inspired by a real-life conversation shortly after Freya passed. We all needed extra love and kisses during this difficult time. We played Kissy Monster almost daily. Iyla had the great idea to turn this game into a book, and so, working together, The Kissy Monster was created. We lovingly dedicate The Kissy Monster to Freya Grace Michel on her first Heavenly birthday. Mwah! Smooch! Always!
