A Magical Dream

Barbara was full of imagination. She enjoyed reading books about elves, fairies and fairy godmothers. One night her mummy read a bedtime story to her and tucked her into bed.

 "I wish my Fairy Godmother would visit me" she told her Mum wistfully. 

"Maybe one day she will" said Mum as she kissed Barbara goodnight. 

 Barbara was very tired after a busy day at school. Soon in she was in deep slumber and drifted into a dream.

In her dream, Barbara and her friend Mary were having a picnic in the woods. They sat on a lush green tuft and munched into their food.

 "I think food tastes great in picnics," said Mary. 

"It sure does. This chocolate cupcake is really yummy".  

Suddenly a quizzical look appeared on Barbara's face. 

"What's up?" asked Mary. 

"I can hear someone crying from behind the tree". 

Mary laughed. "I am sure it is your imagination". 



 "It isn't" insisted Barbara. She ran to the oak tree where the sound came from.

Just behind the oak tree was a tiny fairy. 

"Why are you crying?" asked Barbara.

 "I have lost my fairy wand" replied the Fairy. "The Fairy Queen is going to be so upset", she said in a sad voice.

 By this time Mary had also joined Barbara.
