Butterflies teach us to be free, and know that change only brings us greater beauty.  This is in honor of your first Caterpillar to Butterfly change, 8/14-8/18/2020, hoping there are many more.

Grandma Sherry

Grandpa Rick found a caterpillar, 

and put it in a glass mason jar.

We got to watch it eat and eat,

until it hung from the lid like a star.

We watched you changing colors,

till you were a pretty shiny green.

And we waited for about 2 weeks,

wondering what this did mean.

One day Grandma Sherry called,

to tell us she had a surprise.

Our chrysalis had finally changed,

to a butterfly waiting to fly.

We ran into Gma & Gpa's house,

excited to see our new friend.

We were so happy to see him,

And ready on his way to send.
