The Egyptian Numeration System was the first out of the three numeration systems created around 3000 BC and was used until early AD.

They created this because they had to find a way to be able to calculate the amount of labor they did, the number of stone blocks they had and the amount of food for work that they needed.

This number system was initially created so people could understand how to represent numbers using symbols, or as they called it, ideograms.

The Egyptian Numeration System is an additive system, meaning addition was the main property used, although they sometimes worked with multiplication and division.
This additive system was based off of multiples of ten, because the Egyptians had no concept of a place value system yet

The value of any number is the sum of the Egyptian numerals.

As you can see, the Egyptians made very sophisticated advances in science by creating this numeral system and starting the beginning of our number system today.
