What are waves?
There are three different types of
mechanical Waves .

A Mechanical Wave includes water waves, sound waves and waves on ropes or springs.
The first type of wave is a Transverse wave . A transverse wave is a vibration that travels perpendicularly in its direction.

Next we have a Longitudinal wave . A longitudinal wave is a wave that vibrates along the direction that it's traveling.

Last but not least we have a surface wave. A surface wave is a wave that travels along the surface. It travels between water and air.

Wavelength
A wave length is the distance between two points on a wave. crest to crest and through to through.

Amplitude
An Amplitude is a maximum displacement of the wave from its rest position.

Rest
Displacement
Period
A period is the time required for one whole wave to pass a specific point.

Refraction
A refraction is a bending of a wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different.

Reflection
Reflection is shining throwing a surface of light, heat or sound without absorbing it.
