It all started on a dark, gloomy evening. But it wasn’t so gloomy for me. It was Halloween, and I was just about to go for trick-or-treating! I was dressed up in my awesome yet horrible-looking green zombie costume, and was ready for trick-or-treating. I was so excited that I thought I would probably burst with joy! But, alas, I couldn't leave just yet! I was waiting for my 3 best friends - Tim, Jane and Tom. Finally, after what seemed to be 6 hours, I heard the loud din of the doorbell. I exclaimed loudly!
Yay, they're here!
I opened the door and before they could even say "hi", I rushed out of my house and onto the freshly mowed lawn. I looked back and shouted to them.

Hey, aren't you guys coming?

Jane was covered in a hideous alien suit that looked like it had been covered with tar and then carelessly thrown into a stinky garbage dump. Tom was wearing a cosmic suit which looked like its origin was a movie from the 1960's, known as The Phantom Planet. Tim exhibited a marvelous and headless knight costume which was so rusty I wouldn’t be surprised if it was made during The Renaissance. In fact, it was so rusty I pondered on whether it was actually that rusty or if he had just painted it. We were now ready for an awesome night!

"You know, we make an awesome quartet!"
And so, we began our trick-or-treating!
Around the block was a house in which we made our first stop. We didn't go to the one just next to it, though. Moss comfortably spread itself over the stony pathway, which camouflaged itself so well it was barely seen under the uneven, overgrown grass. Vines and long, leafy plants hung overhead, just above the doorway, and I felt certain that had there been a balcony, it would make a perfect replica of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon! The house was no better either. It was breaking apart as if it were made in the 1800s! It was quite dusty, and the scent of spiderwebs waiting to catch their innocent prey was just belching! It looked worse than Jane's alien suit!

Due to the conditions of the house, we did not go there. Right now, we were trick-or-treating at the first house. It was a rather elegant and expensive house. We got a handful of mega-size Dum-Dum lollipops and a long, fat Hershey's chocolate bar. Delicious! My favorite! We went to a few more houses along the street and received some amazing candies. As we were walking, my instincts told me that someone was following us. I could feel a shadow behind me, but when I turned back, it was gone, or perhaps it wasn't there. However, the agreement between my instincts and I that someone was following us was indestructible. In fact, it was growing stronger and stronger and it made me extremely uncomfortable.
