No 1 in the series of Jonty's adventures!

Once upon a time in a land so hot,  

Lived a tiny kitten, his fur like a dot.  

A desert ginger, full of grace,  

Strutting 'round, finding his place.  

Alone he roamed, with a mighty stride,  

In the sands and sun, he took his pride.  

Chasing camels, butterflies too,  

With a fierce meow, his dominance grew.  

But loneliness crept into his heart,  

So he set off, eager to depart.  

Towards the lights, he made his way,  

In search of friends, come what may.  

At the house with cats big and fat,  

He watched them play, hoping to chat.  

"Meow, meow," he called with glee,  

But inside they stayed, he couldn't see.  

Invited in by the lady so kind,  

He rushed for food, a hunger to find.  

Chasing, meowing, his manner rough,  

He ate their food, though it was tough.  

Unaware of gentleness, he played too rough,  

The two big cats thought, it was quite enough. 

Then came human friends, to offer a hand, 

They named him Jonty, a name so grand.
