In a house by the beach there lived a girl named, Nini, a man, and a woman. They were very happy together. They were out for ice cream that day. 

When they went back home, Nini wanted to play. But her dad said "I have to go." and her mom said "Sorry, but no." Nini was very sad. She wanted to have a playmate! So, she went up to her room and studied and studied and came up with a plan.

Two weeks later, she rushed down to her mom and her dad. She said "I want something I can afford. I'll feed and treat it and won't make it bored. I'll brush it and flush it and give it a bath. Please oh please, I want this and I want that but most of all I want a cat!" "How bout two" said her dad. Nini was thrilled and sang a song, and her parents sang along!

At the shelter, Nini let out a cat. "No." Another. "No! I just can't find the right one." Then when she gloomily walked she saw the one, the sweetest, the neatest, cat of fun! She was blue with light, hopeful eyes. Nini adopted her.
