I would like to dedicate this book to my family, my friends, my cat, my dogs, and of course, Omelet, Dolly, Tootsie, and Burp.

Long, long ago, in a time you nor me could imagine, there lived a brother and a sister. They were also good friends, and were always there for each other. They had the job of delivering flour to the locals. They were fond of their job, and couldn't think of a better life. Delivery, sleep, food, and each other were the only things that they needed. (Or so they said!)
One sunny afternoon, they were delivering flour, as usual. They headed down Yellow Street, and Green Avenue, as usual. They never went near North Nightshade, the other street. It was said that dark magic lurked in the area. The sister, Jane, and the brother, Jack, just stuck to the same places.
They were on Green Avenue when a storm erupted. See, people on Green Avenue were very rude, and did not let Jane and Jack rest in their homes. The only place nearby was North Nightshade. The siblings gulped, heading there.
They had no idea what was in store for them.
As they approached the street, thunder boomed and lightning flashed. The siblings quivered, hugging each other tight as they walked along the sidewalk wearily. All the houses had no fresh, green grass in their yard like Green Avenue. Instead, there was clumpy bits of dirt covering yellow, dying grass.
Jane and Jack slowly headed over to North Nightshade, almost tiptoeing rather than walking. When they arrived, they saw a graveyard. Jack whimpered and jumped back in fright, and Jane shivered. This place was eerie. But, nonetheless, they continued on.
Just then, an empty flour sack Jack was carrying jumped out of his hands. To their amazement,it walked along rather peacefully. It got tired quickly, and flopped over to rest. Jane rushed over to it.
"There's something solid in here," She glanced at her brother, but he just shrugged.
Jane slowly reached into the sack. Inside, there was a baby goat.
"Aw, she looks hungry, Jack," Jane said.
Jack dug into his pocket.
"I only have a moldy egg-and-cheese sandwich,"
He shrugged, and then kindly fed the sandwich to the baby goat.
The goat bleated, content as Jane cradled her.
It was dusk by now. Jane and Jack and the baby goat walked on. The goat started to tremble from the cold, and Jane wrapped her cloak around the goat. Soon, they came to a beat up house. Jane knocked on the door, and an old woman answered.
"What do you want?" The old woman demanded.
"Just food and a warm place to sleep tonight, ma'am," Jack nodded nervously. Suddenly, the woman eyed the baby goat.
"I'll give you all that, but you must give me the goat in return,"
Jane frowned but sighed. "You can have her first thing next morning."
The woman was quite a cook! She whipped up soup and pulled cheese out from the cupboard, and even made a salad to go with it! When Jane and Jack had stuffed themselves to their heart's content, she made them a spot by the fire. They fell asleep quickly, warm and full.
