In a room a fire danced though, a boy sat asleep in his bed. He caught fire. His mother ran though the door. "Ernie! Ernie! Come on!" she left without him. A stranger came into the room. He took Ernie and left. A woman walked past the house on fire. Yet she walked bye unaffected. So did a man. There were no firefighters outside. Maybe the house wasn't on fire after all.

In the bushes a girl sat there, grinning. "Look it Moe! They don't notice the house is on fire! Wow! This is great." Moe blinked. "What? The house is on fire Gwen. It's not a great thing." Gwen rolled her eyes and peeked though the bushes. " It means investigating Moe." Moe tensed a little. "I don't know. Maybe we should be safe." "Okay one, you are the smartest person of second grade. Two, your my best friend. Of course it's a good idea! Come on!" She smiled. "I'm ready!"

The stranger carried Ernie to his lair. It was a prison. The stranger was a big, beefy man. "Stay there." he said in a gruff voice. A dozen more men that looked like him came in. "Let me get the leader." one scoffed. The others nodded and the man look off. He reappeared with another man with him. The man was tall and a smirked. He said to Ernie, "Well well well. We've been waiting for you Ernie."

Gwen and her best friend, Moe sat in a comfy chair. They were having a play date. "Hey Moe." Gwen whispered. "Yeah?" Moe whispered back. "Do you wanna watch TV? Gwen asked. "Yeah." Moe replied. The news was on. A news reporter started talking. "Ugh." Gwen said. "What now?" "We have a report." the news reporter said "A child named Ernie who lived on Blink street went missing yesterday. Gwen gasped. "It's that house on fire! We have to go!" And so they did.

NEWS

"Okay so you are the one to be." the leader said to Ernie. "My name is Jack but call me the king." the king said. "I have you in mind for our very first subject!" The king squealed. "I'm going to capture everyone in the world and be a real king!" "How?" Ernie asked. "Well, I'm going to make your house a fun little play house for children and the adults can come!" "But people will know that I've gone missing and not come." Ernie said "Oh well I will just use another house." The king said. "Yay!"

The house was being destroyed. Gwen started to cry. The builder destroying it said, "Sorry kids. There's a fun house next door to cheer you up." Gwen dried her tears. "I guess so.' she said and trudged into the fun house. Big, beefy men were there. They snatched up people and ran away with them. Gwen screamed and a guy picked her and Moe up and ran to a building. He bolted into the building and threw her and Moe in a room and locked them up. A boy was also in the room. "Hi." he said "I'm Ernie."
