Myles loved dinosaurs, his favorite was the Tyrannosaurus Rex one of the biggest and most vicious dinosaurs there was.  He was the king of the dinosaurs and even though they were no longer around, Myles still loved to watch movies and read books about them. He had clothes like pj's, slippers, and even a headlamp with T-Rexes on them. In fact, his new bedroom was filled with dinosaur things like curtains, blankets, pictures, everything you can imagine.  But he so wished he could see a real dinosaur.

Myles loved dinosaurs.

Myles knew the names of almost all the dinosaurs and for a little boy who was 4 that was amazing. Names that were so long, it would be hard to remember how to write them, but he didn't need them to be written down, all he had to do is look at the dinosaur and he knew exactly what it's name was.   He climbed out of bed and took his stuffed T-Rex with him, like he always did.

There were so many dinosaurs but he'd never have the chance to see them..and it made him unhappy.

Myles was sad.

Myles looked at his T-Rex Dinosaur toy and wondered if there could be an animal that lived today that was related to it.   He quickly ran to get his big  book of dinosaurs and another of animals, opening them, putting his T-Rex in front of him.  He looked at it, then the books, searching for an animal that is alive today, that could be related to his dinosaur.  The only ones he found were a Mastodon which looked like an elephant, and a Megaladon that looked like a shark. "well those are 2 dinosaurs that are related to 2 living animals today, and I've seen an elephant."

Myles was excited.

Myles gave up on the books, even though he loved to look at them, and ran downstairs, turning on the tv, looking for a show about dinosaurs to help him. He found one, watched it, then jumped up when the man said that one animal that is around now that is related is a CHICKEN!!  Birds like that were closely related to Dinosaurs.  "No", Myles said, "that can't be right," but the person on tv said that there was one animal alive today who is related to the King of Dinosaurs and it was a Chicken. 

Myles was very surprised.
