On a normal day of the year, Lilly was sitting at her 

desk with a blank piece of paper right in front of 

her. "Why, oh why does this have to be so long and 

hard all the time?." she thought. "This will take me 

a long time to do!! I just can't do one more writing 

piece!" Then Lilly calmed herself down, "Ugh. Okay, 

I guess I have to go step by step," and on she 

went, writing on her paper.

"Well, what do I think of this past six weeks?" she 

thought to herself. "Well, I liked making new friends and 

doing poetry.Writing and class work was a bit hard, but 

easy too, and I loved reading the books I chose, that 

were really good! But was that all I was going to write? 

No! it couldn't be!! I have to keep thinking! This could 

be harder... but I'll see for myself."

For Lilly, thinking of a memory, was a little complicated 

to do, until a thought came to her mind. "Hmmm," she 

thought. "Well, Over the winter break, I read 2 books, 

and one of them was Rules, by Cynthia Lord. One day in 

the car, I finished that book. It was so good! As I read it, 

everything seemed so far away from me. It was quiet 

and calm, music was playing in the background and not 

a sound was heard, besides my parents whispering. It 

was as if I were in the book. The description was so 

clear and strong, I could understand everything so well! 

I   knew it was this was the book for me." "Ha ha, yep! 

This is the book for me, and it's my favorite!" she said to 

herself.

"Okay, I've read five books this six weeks, and they are 

really good. Rules, by Cynthia Lord and Firegirl, by Tony 

Abbott, are realistic fiction books. Realistic Fiction, is my 

favorite genre, because the events can actually happen 

in real life, and they usually are my type. Diary of a 

Wimpy kid;The Ugly Truth by Jeff Kinney, is a comedy 

book-which is really funny! The Series of Unfortunate 

Events;The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket, is 

Mystery and Suspense- Boy, that has good description! 

Someone Was Watching by David Patneaude, is 

required. I didn't really like that book, because it wasn't 

that exciting, and it did seem boring.   But however, the 

rest, I LOVED!!!! They were fantastic!"

"I have got to say Rules, was my favorite. It was so good 

and the story line was so clever! I would of never 

thought that Rules would be about a 12-year-old girl 

with an autism brother, just by looking at the cover! 

When I looked at the cover, I never really thought that it 

would be a good book, but now it's my favorite!!"
