Pinky is a chihuahua that is OBSESSED with science!
Pinky knows everything there is to know about science;
she thinks so anyways.
There is one thing Pinky doesn’t know about though
which is the life cycle of a frog. Weird right? I mean how
do you not know about the life cycle frogs? Well, Pinky
was so smart in second grade that she skipped it, and
that’s the year they teach about the life cycle of a frog!!!

Pinky was bound and determined to learn
about the life cycle of frogs. So she set out
the next day to find about the life of a frog.
First, she had to travel to their habitat, but
she didn't’t remember where they lived. So
she flashed back to third grade when they
learned about habitats. “One example of a
habitat is frogs. They live in wet and damp
areas and sometimes in trees,”
Mrs.Sunshine would say.

Pinky now back in the present knew
of one wet and damp area with trees,
the creek by her house. She packed
up her camera, journal and science
book, and put on her waterproof boots
so she could take pictures, take notes,
and get in the water too. Then she
headed to the creek to find some
frogs.

When she finally arrived at the creek,
the first thing she saw was frogs!!
There were frogs everywhere! There
had to be a million frogs just at her
creek! Pinky followed one of the frogs
past some old stumps and some
dried up pond to a pile of black dots.

Those dots she realized must be eggs.
Frog eggs! That must mean that eggs
are the first part of the life cycle of a
frog.
She pulled out her notebook and noted,
“First step of life cycle.Eggs.” Then she
took a picture of the eggs and silently
wondered what the second part of the
life cycle is.

Just as she was thinking, the frog took off again
and she followed right behind it. It whizzed past
her house but kept running along the creek bed.
She thought for sure that she was going to pass
out if she didn't’t stop soon.
Luckily the frog stopped in it’s tracks and swam
out to visit some little swimming tailed things
she had never seen before. She whipped out her
science book she had brought along and flipped
right to the amphibian pages. She saw frogs and
pictures of those little tailed swimming things
titled, Tadpoles. Tadpoles are the second part of
the life cycle.

Pinky noted this in her
notebook under the first
step. She also took some
pictures of these little
tadpoles so she could look
back and remember them.
