Chapter 1: Why do I need a sword?
Miles: "Hey! Look out!" I yell, riding on my hover board, almost crashing into someone. It's my last week of summer, and I'm not going to waste it. "HELP!" A distant voice says. Uh oh. It's Lily. Now she's very strong with her power to control water, and having super speed. But if she's in trouble, that's a problem. I'm riding as fast as I can, but by the time I get to her, it's too late.
Of course this is Magnus. The evil villain who I would think was fine until a Dark Star corrupted him. Now, he kinda wants to destroy all of us. "LILY!" I yell, knowing she's not going to hear me. A ship flies into the sky, toward... What? Never Island? I start running, with my hover board in hand, trying to use my warp ability to get into the ship. I'm almost at the right speed when I slam into my little brother Dash and older cousin Neon.
"AHH!! MILES WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!" Neon yells. I can't stop- I'm flying through space, warping to hopefully the airship. My eyes close as we finish our warp. And everything went dark.
I wake up. Neon and Dash are surrounding me, Dash looking ready to punch me.
"I can explain! What happened is that Lily got kidnapped from Magnus, and I tried to warp to the airship. But then I slammed into you clowns... and here we are!" I yell, blocking Dash's attack. "Clowns? Okay, that's a new one, but what's important is us saving Lily or else Lola will end me..." Dash mumbled, upset.
I could relate with Dash(Long story) but Neon was skeptical. "How are we going to find Magnus if we want to find her?" he says. Good point. Maybe he actually went somewhere else? RUMBLE. We all fall to the ground, as I look behind us. The air ship. A new island far off in the distance. Shimmering cities nearby. And I know for a fact that this is all Magnus' fault. Not thinking, I ran off. With my team by my side.
Dash: I ran ahead, blasting through the seaside, dashing through the jungle. Hiss. I kept running. Another hiss. Then a huge snake appeared. Like taller than average. Taller than most of the jungle, tall. Next thing you know, Neon used his Power Band (an invention that's for your wrist. Made by Neon and Miles, it's for us on our adventures.) to create a bubble shield.
"We can't kill it! We're going to have to split up! Neon, go left! Dash, go right! Make a beacon with your wristbands so we can find each other!" Miles runs faster, and we all split. 10 minutes of being chased, Neon shows up, and kicks the snake, showing it that it can't beat us. "What took you all so long!" Miles grins, turning his head to ours. "What...How did you get here so fast?" It's a dumb question, but we're here anyway.
The air ship looms over us, as Miles punches the door open. The blood drains from his face as he looks in. Kiara. Lily was there too. And Lola, Lily's sister. "Kiara?" he says, his eyes softening. "Miles?"
It's been way too long since I've seen Kiara. Or Princess. Last time I saw her, Miles was 7, and she was moving to Golden City. Eventually, Miles said she had powers.
Her powers were like mine, super speed, and ice. She also had the special ability to hover, like me. Miles and Kiara were the first friends they ever had, so they were close. "What's the matter, Miles? Too many memories?" Miles was transforming into something very powerful. A purple aura surrounded him, with his eyes turning blue. He started hovering in the air. Magnus appeared peeking through a corner, and Miles moved faster than light toward him.
A quick dodge stopped Miles. "Listen up, Speedsters. I created my own cities to live in, so I don't have to deal with you three. The only reason I took your friends away," He turns to Miles sharply. "Is because I need help. One of my creations, Star Magnus, turned against me and is destroying my cities." A boom can be heard from the distance. "What I'm trying to say is that I need help." "And why should we help you? We all know you're powerful even without your machines," I blurted out.
"For once, Dash has a good point. Why should we help you?" Miles asked, going back to his normal state. "Don't the good guys always help? Plus, Star Magnus could destroy the world. Or at least Little Town." We all nod, even though it could be a trick. "And you promise not to hurt them?" "Yes." "Deal." "Oh, and one more thing. You'll need a little upgrade from that Power Band. This is just a little expansion that includes a realistic sword." "Why would we need a...never mind."
As soon as we leave the room, I look around me. Peaceful palm trees swaying in the slight breeze, with the sun glowing as it sets. A few clouds are in the sky, but they don't ruin the view of the sparkling water. I can even see a few stars faintly glowing. But when I look in a different direction, I can see why Magnus doesn't want to come back. And that's where we are headed.
Chapter 2: Star City
Neon
"Um, we're seriously going there?" I look at Miles uncertainly looking at his Power Band, and back to the city. "Yeah. That's... actually bright? I mean, if there wasn't a ton of storm clouds, maybe it would look decent?" "Maybe. No Golden City, that's for sure." "We should probably get going, instead of staring into the distance, don't you think?" "You're one to talk about staring Miles. But yeah, we should get a move on." I tap my Power Band, and create a beam of light.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm light dashing," I say. Light dashing is this really cool power that's in the Power Band. It's helpful if you need to get somewhere fast, and what it does is that you can make a beam of light, aim it, and start running for 10 seconds. When that 10 seconds is over, you go faster than the speed of sound. It also will automatically avoid obstacles, and make you invincible. "Okay, my way is the high way!" Dash yells, before using his own powers to hover. "I'll run. See you guys soon."
At the speed of light I take off, blazing through the coast. My feet aren't even touching the ground anymore, they're flying. "YEAH!!!" I scream, touching the water to get to the city. Smooth sailing from here, right? Right? "What is that? Wait, is that a-" The next thing I know, I'm flying. Wow. "Thank you, Light Dash." The power of my speed is keeping me up in the air, but I don't think it will keep me up here too long. In fact, the beam is kind of weak now, cause whatever hit me must of been really big, and strong.
A huge Robot Fish appears in front of me. Well, this is it. I close my eyes, and slam into something. Wait, what? I hear a loud boom behind me. "Always got your back." I turn around to see Miles and Dash, Dash carrying Miles while Miles is wiping his shoe. "Man, that one was kind of easy." "Thanks for the assist. Still could have done it myself, but thanks." We reach the city, and it's... indescribable.
At least where we are. The lights are dim, it's dark and cold. It seems like it could have bee abandoned, but how could it still have power? There could be a generator, but why would anyone keep it on? "I don't think this place is abandoned. It's too... bright-" "This place?" Dash looks at me with a smirk. "If this place was abandoned, it wouldn't even have the lights on."
"Neon's right. This place gives me the chills. Can we hurry it up?" We start walking around, but it's hard to stay on our feet with all the rain. KABOOM! A lightning bolt lands right next to Miles. "You know what? I'm afraid of lightning!" "But you control lightning." "Oh, right. Heh heh..." Miles smiles sheepishly, but I can't focus on that. "Star City. What a weird name for- Oh." I look up to see a utopia filled with lights, shimmering down. The rain is still hard, but I can just barely make out a star. "Wow. I have no words."
"Race you guys to the top!" Dash yells, hovering up. He's already halfway up, but Miles and I could easily catch up. "I'm swinging. You?" "Nope. Sticky shoes." I forgot to mention, you can also create a different type of light dash, where you can swing around to get to somewhere. (Sound familiar?) And yeah, you can use the power band to stick to walls. Wall climbing but easier. I start running up the wall, speeding up with every step.
I keep getting the distracted by the view though. It's too eye-catching and bright and- "WAHH!"
Dash: On second I'm blasting through the air, using my power to get higher faster and faster. The next second, I'm still flying. Just spiraling. "WAHHHH!" A bright figure, resembling me, appears for one second, but as soon as I blink, it's gone. "Dash, you all right over there?" "Yeah, just got shaken off. I'm sure I saw something, though."
