To everyone who thinks they don't have the perfect Christmas tree when they really do

The Best
Christmas Tree Ever
By Lily Elizabeth Perry

Christmas was almost here, and Holly's family didn't have a tree! "Can we go buy a tree today?" Holly asked her dad one afternoon. He wasn't sure how to tell her that they didn't have the money for an expensive tree, but he nodded. Maybe there would be a good tree, even if there wasn't a perfect one. When they arrived, Holly immediately ran to the tree she thought was perfect. It was tall and beautiful and no more than ninety dollars. "Let's buy this one!" she told her dad, but he shook his head. They didn't have enough money.

Holly frowned. "Why not?" Holly's dad told her that they didn't have enough money to buy the tree, so they kept looking. "I think we can buy that," Holly's dad told Holly, pointing to a ugly looking pine tree. "It may not be perfect, but we can still decorate it." Holly shook her head, unhappy. "No. Let's come back tomorrow and find something else." Holly's dad nodded. They said goodbye to Mr. Wood, the man who was in charge of selling the pine trees, and walked back to the car. Holly kept thinking about the tree she wanted.

Holly ran to her friends house after they got home, knocking on the door. It opened and her friend Max stood there. "Hi, Holly!" said Max. "Come in and see our tree!" When Holly saw Max's family's tree, she was amazed. It was just like the one she had always wanted. "It's too bad the branches aren't tilted up at the bottom a little," Max said, interrupting her thoughts. "Then we'd have space for our toy train my dad bought this year. It's automatic! Wanna see it?" Holly nodded. After Max finished showing her the train, she left his house.
