BEING H.E.R.O.I.C

With special guest speaker

2024-25 International United Miss Texas Jianna Garcia

"Good morning everyone! My name is Jianna Garcia and today we will be talking about what it means to be H.E.R.O.I.C" Jianna explained.

  Jaksyn, Izzy, and Anya are all sitting peacefully listening as a group of kids behind them starts laughing and whispering during the presentation.

*Laughing during the presentation*

"H.E.R.O.I.C is important as you are not only being your own hero but being a hero for others, such as your family, your friends, and your classmates. You are being a H.E.R.O.I.C hero for everyone! H.E.R.O.I.C stands for Honesty, Empathy, Respect, Optimism, Integrity and Community." Miss jianna explained.

"Who can give me an example of being H.E.R.O.I.C? Miss Jianna asked the class.

"That is a great example Anya, you definitely know what it means to be a H.E.R.O.I.C hero!" Miss Jianna Exclaimed

"Being a good listener and always being respectful!" Anya answered 

The presentation concludes and the kids head to lunch. As Jaksyn, Izzy and Anya sit down and begin to eat, they notice someone sitting by themself. "I think we should invite him to sit with us so he doesn't to sit by himself..." Anya mentions.

They all nod and agree. Izzy goes over to welcome him and he introduces himself to her as "Max"

They all eat lunch together and talk about their day getting to know their new friend.

 As they ate and talked, the same group of students who were laughing and interrupting class walked by and each let out a small laugh and whispered to each other..

 Izzy looked at Anya and Jaksyn and before they could say anything Izzy stood right up...

"Laughing at someone is NOT kind.. Respect my friends and I because you know that's the right thing to do.." Izzy explains as the group stopped laughing and went silent..

"If you were paying attention in class today you would have learned why being unkind is not being H.E.R.O.I.C, we have to make sure everyone feels welcome and included.. How would you feel if someone laughed at you?" Anya asked and the group walked away..
