Now this is the story Kimpavita of Congo. Let us start off with facts of the Democratic Republic of Congo where she was from. It can fit 80 Belguims in 1 Congo, It is 905,350 square miles. It has more then 45,230,000 people living there. It's highest mountain is named Mt. Ruwenzori. Capitol city is Kinshasa. Now let us begin, This is a true story from the place of my parents and beyond, Congo. Now Kimpa Vita was born near mount Kimbangu in the kingdom of Kongo which was Congo, Zaire,[democratic republic of congo] and Angola.Kongo had been colonized by Portugal.

Kimpa also known as Dona Beatrice to the Portuguese was a young prophet who changed Christianity. She was called queen for 2 reasons. First people thought she was related to King Antonio I, second her family was kongolese royalty. Kimpa Vita was a nganga marinda a person who was able to communicate with spirits. Anyway Dona[Kimpa Vita] started her own movement.

She named this movement the Antonion movement after either King Antonio I or St. Anthony of Padua. Remember Kimpa was not only trying to change christianity but also trying to end civil wars in Kongo. FUN FACT Kimpa "died" every Friday and saw God and came back that Monday. The Kongolese were also trying to make their own bishops, clergys, etc.
