I am a lover of dogs
I wonder what they think about
I hear my dogs bark
I see my dogs play
I want them to go on hikes with me
I am a lover of dogs
I pretend when they bark they are talking
I feel happy when i am with them
I worry when they play in the dirt
I Am Poem
I worry when they play in the dirt
I cry when they are hurt
I am a lover of dogs
I understand some can be mean
I say my dog is my favorite
I dream of him living forever
I try to give them less treats than I do
I hope my dog lives forever
I am a lover of dogs

Re-Creation Poem
Waking up with fog hanging from the trees
I walk downstairs with cold feet
Dogs barking, seeing smiles everywhere in the room
My sister with light in her eyes opening her presents
Bright with rouge I see her hand me my gift
As I open it, I lifted the chocolate from the box
I tell her thank you as I sit next to the bright, warm fire
I look out the window seeing newly planted trees
My sister's eyes met mine as I took her hand
We walk outside to see frost cracking and my breath before me
Stylistic Imitation Poem
At two nineteen in the afternoon.
It was at two nineteen in the afternoon.
An uber dropped off the shooter
at two nineteen in the afternoon.
Nikolas Cruz came onto the campus
at two nineteen in the afternoon.
Carrying a duffle bag and a backpack
at two nineteen in the afternoon.
He entered building 12
at two nineteen in the afternoon.
He activated the fire alarm
at two twenty one in the afternoon.
He fired the gun
at two twenty one in the afternoon.
A staff member heard shots
at two twenty seven in the afternoon.
He shot and killed seventeen people
at two twenty seven in the afternoon.
Cruz ran into a crowd of millions
at two twenty eight in the afternoon.
Blended in with students, he leaves
at two forty in the afternoon.
He goes into a subway
at three oh one in the afternoon.
He left subway and goes on foot
At three forty in the afternoon.
Cruz caught by cops
At three fifty in the afternoon.
Cruz is taken to the hospital
At four thirty in the afternoon.
Cruz released and taken to jail
At two nineteen in the afternoon.
Definition Poem
Disaster: [diz-as-ter], noun, plural disasters,
a sudden event that causes great damage or loss of life; catastrophe:
When my room is a mess;
When I leave my homework at home;
A surprise party not being a surprise anymore.
A dog eating food that took countless hours to make
When your parents think you are home but you stuck out
They're worried, they're scared, they're angry
When it rains on your wedding day
When you sleep in and your late to school
Limerick Poem
Spring break is here and many kids sleep
And when they wake up they all weap,
And when they realize,
It’s dark out and time flies
The begin to go back to sleep and count millions sheep
Ode Poem
My dog gunner you are so cute
Even if you eat my shoe
You help me get through my day
When the skies feel so grey
You wake me up with millions of kisses every morning
And you make my day less boring
Once you go to sleep
You probably dream of sheep
No matter how annoying you get,
You will always be my favorite pet!

Found Poem
Waking up to birds singing
Opening my eyes to the blue vibrant sky
I get up and walk to the window
Watching the morning dew like grass
The birds singing as I shut the window
The room is as silent as a glass of water
I close the curtains
Go back to bed
pull back the covers
The room is now silent
Choral Poem
I am a monkey.
I am swinging from tree to tree
-
If I don’t
I don’t know how long I will survive
-
I never thought she would’ve lied
-
I’m going on a journey
-
I’ve finally found her!
She hugged me
It feels so good
To reunite
It felt like we hugged forever
-
To be back together
I am a monkey
---------------------tree to tree
To find my mommy
Find her soon
I don’t know how long I will survive
All I do is hide
-
Until she left my side
---------------------------journey
To find my mommy
I’ve finally found her
Long and tight
-
To reunite
-
It feels so good
To be back together
