Dear Journal,
Today we started to learn about clouds. The teacher said we would go outside every day to see the and name the clouds. So this is my observation journal.
12/4/16
Dear Journal,
The clouds in the sky were very thin and wispy. Also they looked very high in the sky and the weather was very pleasant. So I thought the clouds were Cirrus.
When we got inside our classroom the teacher said I was correct. I wanted to know more about Cirrus so I looked it up on Google. Apperantly Cirrus coulds mean that the weather will change in 24 hours. Also their altitude is usually 20,000 ft. I also took a picture...

12/5/16
Dear Journal,
When we went outside today the clouds were small, white, and puffy. I wasn't sure if this was Cirrocumulus or Cumulus but I thought it was Cirrocumulus because it was slightly cold and the puffs of could were pretty small. Also Cirrocumulus coulds and very high in the sky- their alltitude is about 16,000-39,000 ft.
When we got into the classroom the teacher anounced I was correct. After that she told us a fun fact she said, "In tropical weather Cirrocumulus clouds can mean a hurricane is coming!" I also took picture again...

12/6/16
Dear Journal,
Today the coulds were blue-gray they looked a bit gloomy. I thought they were Status, but the were the wrong color. Also we could see the dim sun. So then I thought they were Altostratus, a type of status. They also cover the whole sky but they were higher then most Status feet. I pretty sure Altostratus clouds have an alltitude of 6,560-20,000 ft.
I was right again I think I will be doing good on the test. Also, my teacherr told us we would most likely have rain soon. This was the picture from today...

12/7/16
Dear Journal,
I thought today's clouds were Altocumulus. I thought that because the coulds were gray, puffy, and at mid-level in the sky. Altocumulus and Altostratus have the same altitude range. Also today is warm and humid so that was another reason to believe that the coulds were Altocumulus.
I was right once again! I am pretty sure I will ace my test! My picture for today...

12/8/16
Dear Journal,
The clouds today were dark gray and wet looking. It was kind of gloomy again today. Also they covered most of the sky and the whole sun. They were low in the sky. It was a light drizzle but it was raining. So I was positive that the clouds were Nimbostratus.
I was correct once again! Yay! Also when we got inside of the classroom my teacher said if it was colder today we could of had snow. My picture...

12/8/16
Dear Journal,
I knew the clouds were Cumulus the momennt I saw them. Cumulus coulds are my favorite. They are white, puffy, and have an altitude of about 6,600. And usually indacate fair weather.
When we got inside the school the teacher gave me a prize because I was the only one in the class to name all of the clouds correctly. I was so happy! Todays picture...

12/9/16
Dear Journal,
Today the clouds were in a grayish blanket over the sky. Their altitude is approximatly 6,500 ft. And scince it was raining sightly I knew the clouds were Stratus clouds. Someone said that Status coulds look like fog that never touched the ground.
Right again! It is almost expected now. My picture of the clouds...
