Once upon a time, in a far away land

Was a kingdom, and in that kingdom lived the fair princess Emma.

The Princess Emma played her games during the day.

Like monkey bars, or ballet.

Emma loved the day, when she could play her games, but...

Night was not as much fun.

It was too dark to play outside.

Emma doesn’t like the dark, for all that goes bump in the night.

Like the groanings of a monster,

The monster tapping at her window,

And the fact that she can’t see a thing.

So she tried to scare the darkness away with some light.

But, it was too bright, and she was up all night.

So then she tried to drown out the noise, with a noise machine. 

But, the monster was louder than the machine.

“Oh Emma, why do you look so tired?” Emma's mom asked.

“I’m so tired because the things in the dark kept me up all night,” Emma replied with a yawn.
