Literacy Autobiography

My earliest memories of reading come from my parents reading to me when I was young.

Reading was a part of our nighttime routine and it was something that I looked forward to leach night.

As I got older, I began to read on my own. As I learned to read, I also began learning how to write on my own.

I remember feeling like I was a slower reader than my peers. This made me insecure about reading, but I still continued to work to be a better reader at home.

My grandmother was a teacher. She was always eager to read to me and for me to read to her when I began learning to read on my own.

Now that I am older, I haven't had much time to read for pleasure. Most of my reading is research or textbooks.

When I get time to write these days, it is mostly journaling. I use journaling as a way to express my feelings and put them into words.

I am so thankful to have been able to receive a good education. Knowing how to read and write can open so many doors for our youth.
