"Hey, Bert!" Alan waved shyly, his usual timid self. Tylor smiled kindly beside him.
Bert skipped over to them, his eyes wide with curiosity. "What are we discovering today?" he asked with a grin, eager for an adventure.
Tylor shrugged, his smile warm. "Who knows, Bert. Maybe something amazing. Maybe something... not so amazing." He chuckled softly.
Alan nodded, though he looked a bit nervous. "I... I think I’ll just stay here today."
"Okay!" Bert said brightly. "I’ll go discover something "really" cool then! See you later, guys!" With a wave, Bert turned and skipped down the street toward the beach.
As Bert walked along the shore, his thoughts raced with possibilities. Maybe he'd find a hidden treasure, or a shiny stone he could add to his collection. His mind wandered as he walked closer to the cliffs. Suddenly, something caught his eye.
A soft, lilac-colored shape was falling from the sky, twirling gently like a feather. Bert's eyes widened in surprise. "What is that?!" he whispered to himself.
The lilac shape grew larger and larger as it fell, and Bert realized it was a fluffy, little kitten plush. It was falling straight toward the dangerous sea below. Without thinking, Bert sprinted toward the cliff. He reached the edge just in time and stretched out his hands, grabbing his hat and reached it out to catch the falling plush.
"Gotcha, cat!" Bert cried, pulling the plush kitten back to safety. He held it in his arms, amazed by how soft and light it was. "My name's Bert. Why did you fall from the sky?"
To his shock, the little plush kitten spoke. "I was born from the sky," she said in a sweet, soft voice. "And I was sent to find you, Bert. You’re the first one. There are five lucky children, and you’re the first to receive your very own plush cat."
Bert blinked, his mouth open in surprise. "You... you can talk?"
"Yes," she giggled. "I’m Mew. I have many secrets to tell you, but we’ll talk about that later. For now, let’s be friends!" Her lilac fur shimmered in the sunlight, and Bert could tell she was no ordinary plush. Mew had an angelic sense of fashion too, with a tiny pastel pink bow on her ear that matched her soft, lilac fur.
Bert smiled widely. "Of course, Mew! Let’s go back to the neighborhood!"
And so, with Mew in his arms, Bert returned to the neighborhood. As they walked, Mew told Bert about the secrets of the world, sparkling things she could find, and the magical world she came from. Bert was enchanted by Mew's stories.
When they reached Alan and Tylor, Bert was eager to introduce his new friend.
