It was an ordinary morning when Bert, the cheerful and curious 8-year-old boy, bounded down the street with Mew, his fluffy lilac kitten plush, tucked safely inside his backpack. Tylor, the fashionable and kind 11-year-old, walked beside him, his hand fiddling nervously with the straps of his backpack. He had something on his mind that he couldn’t quite put into words.
“I’ve got a wish,” Tylor said suddenly, looking down at his shoes. His heart thumped a little, unsure whether he should speak up.
Bert, as cheerful as ever, glanced at Tylor with his big, bright eyes. “I like to hear your wish,” Bert said, “but I’m heading to school with my plush cat friend!” Bert grinned widely, clearly not able to contain his excitement. He was always eager to talk about his adventures with Mew, his plush companion.
Tylor smiled, but there was a slight frown on his face. “But that’s my wish.”
Bert kept walking, happily humming to himself, oblivious to how important Tylor’s wish was. But Tylor stopped in his tracks. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and whispered under his breath, “Please, give me a plush kitten.”
At school, the day seemed to go by quickly. In class, the teacher announced, “Tomorrow is Show and Tell! Bring something special to share with the class!”
Tylor barely paid attention, lost in his thoughts. That evening, after a long day of lessons, Tylor trudged home, feeling a bit down. He still couldn’t shake the feeling that his wish wasn’t going to come true. But just as he walked past his house, he stopped. He looked up at the sky and whispered once more, “Please, let me have a plush kitten.”
Suddenly, something miraculous happened. A soft gust of wind blew, and a small, pale pink plush kitten with delicate pink stripes fell from the sky. Tylor gasped, catching the kitten in his arms.
The plush kitten stirred and looked up at him with bright eyes. “Hi, Tylor! I’m Nene. You’re the third lucky kid to have a plush kitten of your very own!” Nene’s voice was soft and friendly, and her smile was gentle.
Tylor couldn’t believe it. His wish had come true! He hugged Nene, his heart swelling with joy. “I... I can’t believe it! You’re real!”
Nene purred softly, snuggling into his arms. “I’m here to be your friend, Tylor. And I’m really good at dream divination, sports, and singing! I also love flowers—especially cherry blossoms.”
