It was another sunny afternoon, and Bert and Mew were playing outside in Bert's front yard. Bert, the curious and cheerful 8-year-old, had always loved adventures, and today was no exception. He and Mew were chasing butterflies through the garden, laughing together under the bright blue sky.
Suddenly, something caught Bert’s attention. A large moving truck was parked at the house next to his, and people were unloading boxes and furniture.
“Mew, look!” Bert said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “It looks like we have a new neighbor!”
Mew tilted her little head to one side, her pastel pink bow fluttering in the breeze. “A new neighbor? How exciting! I wonder what their name is?”
Bert didn’t waste any time. He quickly ran over to Alan and Tylor, who were sitting nearby.
“There’s a new neighbor next door!” Bert announced, practically bouncing on his feet. “We’ve got to go meet them!”
Alan, who was a little more reserved and shy, nodded nervously. “A new neighbor? Um… okay, I guess we can say hi.”
Tylor, always the kind and fashionable one, smiled warmly. “Let’s go meet them! Maybe we can make a new friend.”
Together, the three friends walked over to the moving truck, where a young girl was carefully arranging boxes by the front door. As soon as she noticed them, she smiled.
“Hi! I’m Sarah,” she said with a little wave. “We just moved here.”
Bert grinned widely. “I’m Bert! And this is Alan and Tylor.” He then held up Mew, his fluffy lilac kitten plush. “This is Mew. She was born from the sky.”
Sarah blinked in surprise, clearly intrigued. “Born from the sky? That sounds amazing!”
Bert nodded eagerly. “It’s true! Mew says that five lucky kids will get their very own plush cats, too. So I was wondering if you might be the second lucky kid.”
Sarah tilted her head, a little skeptical. “Really? A plush cat from the sky?”
“Well, it’s worth a shot,” Bert said with a grin. “Maybe you’ll get your own plush cat if you wish for it!”
Feeling excited but also a bit uncertain, Sarah closed her eyes and whispered to herself, “I wish I get my own plush cat.”
