A young boy named Jake liked to learn about 

planets. He would read about planets in books 

and ask his parents about them. One night he 

laid in his bed and fell asleep. He started to 

dream.........

Mercury

In his dream, Jake saw the planet mercury. It 

is the planet that is smallest and closest to the 

sun. He saw the neat looking planet from 

above. 

Venus

In his dream, Jake traveled to venus. He sat down and enjoyed the 

view. Venus is sometimes called earth's sister planet, because of their 

similar size, gravity, and bulk composition. It is the closest planet to 

the earth. 

Jake flew past stars and constellations. He flew near the earth. 

He looked below where he was born. The oceans, the land, 

and clouds were below. 

He then flew near Mars. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun 

and the second smallest planet in the Solar System, after 

Mercury. It's a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, 

having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters 

of the Moon and the valleys, volcanoes, deserts, and polar ice 

caps of Earth.

  He then flew to Jupiter. This planet is the largest planet in 

the solar system. It is the fifth planet from the sun. A faint 

planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere 

surrounds Jupiter. Jake was having fun, but missed his home 

on planet earth.
